French II

En classe:
  • Daily review questions and conversations in French about the weekend, etc.
  • Discussed current events and artifacts.
  • Handed back and corrected Leçon 20 quizzes.
  • Passed out French II books. Make sure you have your name labeled in pen on the inside cover. This book is yours for the rest of the year. Take good care of it!
  • Watched the Leçon 21 video about cities and homes.
  • Read pages 188 and 189 and discussed the populations of the largest cities in France, architectural differences in cities (modern vs. historical), and locations/buildings in French cities and towns.
Les devoirs:
  • Complete the Leçon 21 vocabulary worksheet.

French I

**This week in French I, we are going to concentrate on Unité 3 Leçon 9 in the textbook. We will also work on our family photo album project.**

En classe:
  • Daily review questions and conversations in French about the weekend, etc.
  • Discussed current events and artifacts.
  • Watched the Leçon 9 video about food and the café culture in France.
  • Read the Bon Appétit section in the book on page 56 and discussed boulangeries, pâtisseries, and "le fast-food."
  • Practiced ordering food with the expression "Je voudrais...s'il vous plaît."
  • Acted out the two skits on page 58 with a partner.
  • Sang the song "Oh Que J'ai Faim!"
Les devoirs:
  • Complete the Leçon 9 vocabulary worksheet.
  • Finish your family photo album rough draft and bring it to class on Wednesday for peer-editing.

French II

Expression pour la semaine: Félicitations!

En classe:
  • Daily review questions and conversations in French about the Inauguration, etc.
  • Review activities on the overhead in order to review il est/elle est vs. c'est.
  • Reviewed and corrected Tuesday's homework (worksheet activities 3-7).
Les devoirs:
  • Write 10 original sentences using the new adjectives from this Leçon, but omit the il est/elle est/c'est so that tomorrow in class, your partner will be responsible for correctly placing the correct expression in the sentence.

French I

**This week in French I, we are reviewing and preparing for Friday's Unité 2 test.**

Expression pour la semaine: Félicitations!

En classe:
  • Daily review questions and conversations in French about the Inauguration, etc.
  • Used the basket of questions to practice asking and answering questions.
  • Used photos of Mlle Young's family to use correct possessive adjectives to describe each person.
  • Discussed the Unité 2 Review Guide and the Family Photo Album Project guidelines.
  • Played Telephone to review the Unité 2 vocabulary.
Les devoirs:
  • Complete activity 5 on page 53 in your textbook.
  • STUDY for Friday's test on Unité 2.
  • Period 6 - come to class with a signature from a parent/guardian as proof of having studied for at least 20 minutes for Friday's test.

French Culture

2nd period - Worked in the Media Center on presentations.

9th period - Last day of class (French party!) Au revoir!

  • Daily review questions and conversations in French about weekend plans, etc.
  • Discussed and corrected Thursday's homework.
  • Two short activities in order to review placement and agreement of adjectives. Remember the mnemonic device: BANGS!
  • Played 4 Corners to review adjectives.
Les devoirs:
  • Complete activities 3 and 4 in the packet passed out on Thursday.
  • Bring in French articles/artifacts.
  • Bring a dry erase marker to class on Tuesday.

French I

En classe:
  • Daily review questions and conversations in French about weekend plans, etc.
  • Discussed and corrected Thursday's homework.
  • Discussion about Bastille Day and the traditions surrounding France's national holiday.
Les devoirs:
  • Begin to study for Friday's test on Unité 2. I will provide you with a study guide on Tuesday but it is very important for you to begin your review over the long weekend!
  • Bring in French news articles/artifacts.
  • Please bring a dry erase marker to class on Tuesday.
