French I

**This week in French I, we will complete our study of Leçon 14 and begin Leçon 15 on pages 106-115. This leçon deals with parties in France, regular -er verbs, using the negative with regular -er verbs, and the construction of verb + infinitive.**

En classe:
  • Daily review questions and conversations in French about weekend plans, etc.
  • Handed back and corrected the être quiz.
  • Review game to help study for the Leçon 14 quiz.
Les devoirs:
  • Study for Tuesday's quiz on Leçon 14.

French Culture

2nd period:
  • Discussed articles/artifacts.
  • Worked on research for Francophone Projects in the Media Center.
9th period:
  • Discussed articles/artifacts.
  • Introduced Francophone Projects.
  • Began to watch Ms. Young's PowerPoint slide show of Paris and Luxembourg.

  • Reviewed and corrected all activities from pages 104-105.
  • Wrote to pen pals in journals.

French Culture

  • Discussed current events and artifacts.
  • Discussed the differences/similarities between the French artists Georges Seurat and Toulouse Lautrec.
  • Began painting our own Seurat-inspired masterpieces!

**This week in French I, we will continue our study of Leçon 14 (pages 96-103). We will concentrate on the verb "être," and using it in conversations to ask and respond to questions.**

En classe:
  • Daily review questions and conversations in French about weekend plans, etc.
  • Discussed current events and artifacts.
  • Completed activities 2 and 3 on pages 99-100 (1st and 6th periods only).
Les devoirs:
  • Complete the Leçon 14 review guide worksheet and study for Wednesday's quiz on the verb "être."

French Culture

2nd period:
  • Discussed current events and artifacts.
  • Passed back map/culture quiz and made corrections.
  • Showed examples of excellent Francophone Project posters.
  • Continued to watch Ms. Young's PowerPoint photo slide show of Paris and Luxembourg.
9th period:
  • First day of class! Welcome!
  • Discussed syllabus and class expectations.
  • Discussed current events.
  • Began the map of France/Europe map and culture activity.
  • Homework: Bring a French Culture folder, paper, and pencil to class on Tuesday.
