In class:
  • Discussed Friday's famous Francophone: Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.
  • Played the "flyswatter game" using our student-made giant-sized map of Paris. Reviewed the Parisian monuments.
  • Watched the beginning of The Travel Channel's DVD on Paris.
Homework:
  • Bring in articles and artifacts.
  • Study for Tuesday's Parisian monument quiz.
  • Continue Francophone country project research.

French II

En classe:
  • Daily review questions and conversations in French.
  • Reviewed and corrected Wednesday's homework (Leçon 17 worksheet).
  • Used whiteboards to draw a picture based on Mlle Young's descriptions in French using the Leçon 17 vocabulary). Continued this activity with a partner.
  • Completed book page 146 activity 13 with a partner.
Les devoirs:
  • Draw five photos of objects from Leçon 17 and write one sentence per photo (five total) to describe them. Use appropriate prepositions.

French I

En classe:
  • Daily review questions and conversations in French.
  • Used whiteboards to practice writing words in French as Mlle Young spelled them out using the French alphabet.
  • Reviewed and corrected Wednesday's homework (weather crossword puzzle).
  • Read pages XIV and T1 together as a class. Discussed important cultural topics.

  • Read pages 4-7 in the book and be prepared to discuss in class on Friday.

  • Used whiteboards to practice asking questions and making statements based on scenarios provided by Mlle Young.
  • Completed book page 143 activity 8 with a partner.

  • Complete the double-sided Leçon 17 worksheet.
  • Friday's famous Francophone: Antoine de Saint-Exupéry.

French I

En classe:
  • Daily review questions and conversations in French.
  • Handed out and discussed the packet on telling time and discussing weather.
  • Used whiteboards to practice spelling using the French alphabet as Mlle Young orally spelled out the words.
  • Sang the two versions of the French alphabet.
  • Sang "Qui Je Suis."
  • Handed out textbooks! Looked through and discussed each Unité and what we will be learning.
Les devoirs:
  • Sing the French alphabet to family members or friends at least three times. Also, review the French accent marks. Practice the accent dance!
